Overview

What does your campus actually need to understand about AI to move forward together?

Many institutions are discovering that this question has no single answer yet. This workshop provides the structure, evidence, and collective space to clarify it.

“AI literacy” has quickly become a common phrase in higher education. Yet, it often means very different things to different people. For some, it refers to classroom use and academic integrity; for others, it signals operational efficiency, ethical risk, or workforce readiness. As a result, people within an institution frequently find themselves talking past one another, unsure whether they are aligned on what AI literacy actually entails or what matters most to understand.

Guiding AI Literacy Across Campus invites higher-ed leaders (who influence how learning and understanding take shape across their institution) into a structured, collective process for making meaning of AI literacy together. This workshop guides you in surfacing shared priorities, clarifying assumptions, and shaping what AI literacy means in your institutional context.

The interactive workshop supports you in clarifying how AI literacy is currently understood on your campus and what a more shared, operational definition could look like in practice. Through dialogue, mission-aligning activities, and definition mapping, you will explore what people across roles need to understand about AI to feel grounded individually and collectively.

You will receive a crowd-sourced document from this session that brings together the insights and salient dimensions of AI literacy from the collective work in this session. The resource will highlight common areas of alignment, key tensions, and the different ways to move forward. This synthesis will support you in guiding conversations, aligning stakeholders, and continuing to advance AI literacy on your campus.

Approximately two weeks before the session, participants will receive a brief pre-work activity (30–45 minutes) designed to gather light reflections and a small set of perspectives or examples from their campus, providing a practical foundation for the collective work of clarifying AI literacy during the session.

Capacity is limited to support a highly interactive learning environment and to ensure diversity of perspectives, approaches, and institutional contexts within each workshop. Participation is capped at three leaders per institution to encourage rich cross-institution dialogue and peer learning.

Institutions interested in including more than three participants are encouraged to contact us to explore options for a custom offering or institution-specific program tailored to their context.
